Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or case number into a search tool on the site, the query is sent to the outside service that operates that tool. That service processes the query and provides any results. We do not keep a separate log of the search terms entered through our pages.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message so that we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, our servers may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your browser and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring site, if one sent you here
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The IP address associated with your device
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, which are small files stored on a device, to understand general site use such as traffic patterns and frequently visited pages. Analytics services help us aggregate that information. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
We use the information described above to operate and improve the site. That includes directing a search query to the applicable outside service, maintaining performance, diagnosing technical problems, understanding aggregate page use, and displaying advertising that may be tailored to interests.
No Court-Record Data on File
This site neither hosts nor sells a database of court dockets or personal case files. It offers general information about the Dodge County District Court, where Dodge County Court Administration maintains the official register and case-file components described in Minn. Stat. § 485.07. The Minnesota Rules of Public Access, Rule 8 governs inspection, copying, and remote access to Judicial Branch records. We do not assemble visitor information into consumer reports or third-party profiles, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Information submitted to a tool is handled under that provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Those providers set their own retention and sharing practices, which we do not control. Review the applicable policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to resources such as Dodge County District Court, Minnesota Court Records Online, and other court or reference services. A link takes you to an independently operated site, where that site's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites in order to display interest-based advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. The limited data described here may be available to:
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and performance
- Outside services that process a query submitted through their tools
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on our pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal requirement applies
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security measures intended to protect the data we collect. No internet-connected system can guarantee complete security, so we cannot promise that an unauthorized access event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so we can address the issue.
Your Data Rights
This policy does not assert that Minnesota law gives visitors additional privacy rights in data held by this private site. Access to Dodge County Judicial Branch records instead follows the Minnesota Rules of Public Access, Rule 4, Rule 8, and Rule 7. Rule 7 permits an oral or written request to the court custodian when the request identifies the record. You may also ask us to:
- Request a copy of information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask to opt out of certain data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy from time to time. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.
